Luke's Graduation Quilt

(Luke and lovely girlfriend, Krittika, holding up Luke's Yankees quilt)

Mom created this Yankees themed quilt for her nephew's graduation from Denison University in 2009. The backing is made up of various fabrics with the logo for the Yankees: Luke's favorite team. This quilt was displayed in the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Quilt Show in 2009 before making its way to Luke (see picture of Mom with the quilt, below).

Blue Lagoon Quilt

(Mom's blooming nine patch quilt on display)

Mom showed this blooming nine patch quilt at the 2009 Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Quilt Show. She made a similar quilt top in green pictured below, which she shows in her closet.

(Part of Mom's closet collection that's never been seen by the public- until now!)

Sophie's Baby Quilt

("TV is so much more relaxing under my quilt!" - Sophie)
Mom made this baby quilt for her newest niece, Sophie, for her first birthday in 2008, just to play on.

Irish Welcome Quilt

(Irish Welcome and Good Luck quilt, at the 2009 show)

This smaller sampler quilt was made by Mom with blue and Irish-green fabrics. It is a bedspread, and currently resides in the Mishiwaka condo. It was shown in the 2009
Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Quilt Show.

Teacup Quilt

(Mom's Teacup Quilt)

If there's one thing that my mom does more than quilt, it's drink tea, which is why this quilt really reflects her personality. Many of the blocks were made by members of the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild. Some of them feature quotes chosen by Mom about friendship. This quilt was displayed at the 2009 Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Quilt Show.

Leigh's Graduation Quilt

(Mom and Leigh show off this pretty in pink graduation gift)

This quilt was made for Mom's niece, Leigh, upon graduating from the University of South Carolina in 2007. As you can tell, Leigh chose pink for her theme color. Mom and Leigh are sorority sisters, as you can see in the dedication, below:

Kristen's Graduation Quilt

(Kristen with her graduation quilt)

Mom quilted this for her niece, Kristen, when she graduated from Monmouth University in 2007. Kristen picked blue/turquoise for her quilt's dominant color.

(This is one of the beds in Mom's house. In case you were wondering about the little girl beads on the wall - mine, not Kristen's)

Isn't it great that Dad and Aaron and I get credit for this gift when Mom did all the work?

Leslie's Quilt Trade

(Leslie with her quilt)

Mom created this quilt for her sister-in-law in exchange for the beautiful needlepoint (see the picture below). Aunt Leslie had this to say about her gift:
"Since I sew, I have a real appreciation for how much work is involved in producing a quilt and although I wanted one, I would never have dreamed of asking for one. When she offered to make one in exchange for a needlework (that I love to do), I jumped at the opportunity and am now the proud owner of a beautiful family heirloom."
(The cost of one quilt: this beautiful needlepoint)

Christmas Quilt

If you have visited our house at any point in the last 25 years, you already know about Mom's obsession with Christmas, Santas, and Christmas tree ornaments (we've had upwards of 3 trees at a time before). This quilt comes out every year during Christmastime, with little Santas along the headboard of the bed.

M is for Muscarella Quilt

This wall hanging was given to my Mom's sister-in-law, Carol, as a Christmas gift. Mom showed it in the 2005 Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Show.

Hearts of Friendship Quilt

Mom dedicated this friendship quilt to me (Sarah). It's part of my growing collection of quilts for the multi-bedroom house I'll have someday. This quilt was shown at the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild's 2005 quilt show.

Dakota's Baby Quilt

(Dakota's baby quilt, which hangs in her room)

This baby quilt was made as a gift for Mom's sister-in-law to give to her niece for her first birthday in 2005.

Vicky and Jim's Quilt

(Aunt Vicky with her modern squares quilt)

The quilt pictured above was created by my mom as a sample for a class she was teaching. (More information to come.)

Fleur Di Lis Quilt

This Hawaiian, fleur di lis pattern quilt is a friendship quilt, meaning that Mom had friends make one block of the same pattern, and incorporated them into one quilt. The blocks for this quilt were made by (who else?) members of the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild.

Here is an example of the border detail:

Mom asked each quilter to sign her block. Here is Mom's:
