Laura's Graduation Quilt

Mom made this crimson and black (school colors) quilt for her niece, Laura's graduation from the University of South Carolina in 2010. They were in the same Sorority, which uses the owl as a mascot, so the owl showed up on the dedication patch on the back of Laura's quilt. Laura said about the quilt, "Everyone who has seen it is in awe of the handwork, time and love you put into it. It is something I will cherish forever."

The fabric on the back is USC themed.

Laura didn't provide me with a picture of her and the quilt, so instead I've chosen this pic of Laura and mom at a wedding this summer. It looks like they're having a good time!

Luke's Graduation Quilt

(Luke and lovely girlfriend, Krittika, holding up Luke's Yankees quilt)

Mom created this Yankees themed quilt for her nephew's graduation from Denison University in 2009. The backing is made up of various fabrics with the logo for the Yankees: Luke's favorite team. This quilt was displayed in the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild Quilt Show in 2009 before making its way to Luke (see picture of Mom with the quilt, below).

Christmas Quilt

If you have visited our house at any point in the last 25 years, you already know about Mom's obsession with Christmas, Santas, and Christmas tree ornaments (we've had upwards of 3 trees at a time before). This quilt comes out every year during Christmastime, with little Santas along the headboard of the bed.

Ruthie's Quilt

(Ruthie and Uncle Jim displaying Ruthie's quilt)

This quilt was started by my mom when her niece, Ruthie, was just a little girl. Mom calls this quilt "silly" and has promised to make Ruthie another one someday.

Lauren's Graduation Quilt

Mom created this pinwheel quilt for her niece's graduation. Lauren describes the quilt warmly as follows:
"This beautiful quilt was given to me when I graduated from Moravian College in 2002. I was speechless when I opened up this present. The amount of time, detail and planning that goes into each one of Bobbie's quilts is amazing. It is breathtaking, and I am glad that I have something as precious as this quilt to pass along to my kids one day. "

The Rusty Sampler Quilt

(One of the old ones!)

Here is one of Mom's first quilts, or as I call it, "The Rusty Sampler". There are a variety of blocks all in maroon, pink, and rusty red fabric, including a B for Bobbie.
